Students are welcome to connect personally-owned devices to our campus wireless network.  If you own such a device, please select the panther_secure wireless network.  The login for this wireless network will be your student ID number and your network password.


Mac OS

· Select the panther_secure wifi network from the available networks

· When prompted for your login, enter your Greenville network username and password

· You will be prompted to accept a certificate. Select to continue

· You will be prompted to enter your computer’s admin login to accept the certificate. This will be the login you enter when computer starts up

· While the panther wifi continues to exist during the upgrade transition, you will want to change the order of your preferred network so that panther_secure connects first

o Click on the wireless icon in upper left-hand corner

o Select "open network preferences"

o Make sure wifi is highlighted, and select the "advanced" button

o You will see a list of preferred networks. Drag Panther_secure to the top of the list and then select okay at bottom of the window. Click Apply on the next window.



Windows

Personally-owned computer:

· Select the panther_secure wifi network from the available networks

· When prompted for your login, enter your Greenville network username and password

· You will be prompted to accept a certificate. Select to continue

· You will be prompted to enter your computer’s admin login to accept the certificate. On your personal computer, this is likely the login you enter when computer starts up



iPhone and iOS devices

· Select the panther_secure wifi network from the available networks

· When prompted for your login, enter your Greenville network username and password

· You will be prompted to accept a certificate. Select Trust to continue


Android phones and Kindle

· Go to settings and then select connections

· Select panther_secure from the available wifi networks

· When presented the wifi settings, make sure the following are set and then choose Connect:

o EAP method: PEAP

o Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2

o CA certificate: unspecified

o For the Identity option, enter your Greenville username (leave Anonymous Identity option empty)

o Password- enter your Greenville network login password


Chromebooks

· Select panther_secure from the available wifi networks

· When presented the wifi settings, make sure the following are set and then choose Connect:

o EAP method: PEAP

o Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2

o CA certificate: Do not check

o For the Identity option, enter your Greenville username (leave Anonymous Identity option empty)

o Password- enter your Greenville network login password


If your device will not work with (or recognize) panther_secure, then you will need to connect to panther_connect. To get your personalized password for this network, login to my.greenville.edu, and navigate to Students > my Campus Information, then click Create Private Key. This will generate your password for panther_connect that can be used on up to 4 devices.
